fig 1.1 - Zapper Snapper Game |
Story and Gameplay: William's quest is to stop a virus outbreak and fight through zombie that is developing in the city and the lab is the final destination. "Zapper Snapper" features simple gameplay mechanics that require keyboard inputs to control the protagonist, William. All actions—moving, jumping, and attacking.
1. Challenge: The gameplay mechanics are simple and enemies are easy to defeat, indicating a low level of challenge. This could make the game suitable for casual players or those looking for a more relaxed gaming experience.
2. Strategy: While the gameplay requires some strategy in
terms of timing jumps and attacks, it appears to be more about
execution rather than strategic decision-making. Players may need to
plan their movements to avoid obstacles and defeat enemies
efficiently, but there isn't a deep strategic element present in the
game.
3. Chance: Players get to gain "heart" elements which can used
to recharge their life in specific scenes.
4. Choice: No any significant player choices that impact the
gameplay or story. Players seem to follow a linear path and engage in
predetermined actions, limiting the scope for meaningful choices.
5. Luck: No specific luck elements in the game. Success seems
to depend primarily on the player's skill and mastery of the game
mechanics rather than luck-based outcomes.
1. Challenge: The game presents a challenge to players,
particularly in controlling Mei's movements and dealing with fast-moving
ghosts. This aspect of the gameplay could deter some players, especially
those who struggle with challenging mechanics.
2. Strategy: No significant strategic elements in the gameplay.
However, the need to collect "Talisman papers" to fight off ghosts implies
a strategic component in managing resources and deciding when and where to
engage enemies.
3. Chance: There's no mention of random or luck-based elements in
the game. The progression appears to be more skill-based and tied to the
player's actions rather than random chance events.
4. Choice: Players can interact with items to reveal the backstory
of the school, which suggests a degree of player choice in exploring the
narrative. However, there's no mention of significant choices that alter
the course of the game, so the choice element might be relatively
minor.
5. Luck: Similar to chance, there's no indication of luck playing
a significant role in the game. Player success seems to be primarily
determined by skill in navigating the environment, managing resources, and
engaging enemies.
